Improving my interview skills

This week was a preparatory week for us. In the classroom with Dr. McCabe, we conducted a practice interview to pick up skills we will use when we are in conversation with people down south. I learned much about the history of Newark and its history of Civil Rights. Then on Wednesday, the group trekked to New York City to see Aaron Sorkin's adaption of To Kill A Mockingbird on Broadway. It was a powerful interpretation, with changes that made me reflect a little more deeply on racism in today's society, and even my own biases. It's been a long time coming (we've been preparing since December!), but now we are getting ready to leave on Sunday, and I couldn't be more excited!
