The Newark Riots, and To Kill a Mockingbird

During the first week of class , we’ve met with a well educated man by the name of Dr. Tom McCabe. As a professor as Rutgers Newark , he holds a lot of of knowledge about the history of racial injustice and inequality among other groups here in Newark . He explained that everyone was segregated and and had their own territory but I actually never knew about other races living here besides black and white people and how cruel they were treated . The next day, we took a trip to NYC to see the Broadway play, To Kill a Mockingbird. Overall, the show was well performed and I’ve learned that while racial injustice existed down in the south, the people in the north also experienced their own form of race injustice and brutality the police.  We need to understand that this is still a present-day problem.
